The classic song was one of many revolutionary songs by John Lennon.  It was first performed live on global television link Our World in 1967 and was watched in 25 countries by 400 million people.  The next month after the performance it was released as their next single and went straight to number one in the UK for three weeks.

What we like

  • So many of us know the words to the chorus, but it is the words in between that really explain the true depth of this song.  The words prompt us to wonder what is the love that is being spoken of?  What is the depth of this love?

Soul experience

  • We love the Pavarotti and Friends version of this song.  Pavarotti brought together different artist live in concert and he would perform their songs with them.  In 2000 a concert included the Eurythmics, George Michael and Tracy Chapman.  For the final performance all the artists joined together on stage and sang All You Need is Love

To reflect on

  • There’s nothing you can know that isn’t known
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown
  • All you need is love, love
    Love is all you need
