Morning Has Broken was recorded by Cat Stevens and is on the album Teaser and the Firecat.  The beautiful piano arrangement that is part of this recording was composed and performed by Rick Wakeman. This was originally a hymn of the 1930s.

What we like

  • Cat Stevens, Ysuf Islam as he is currently known, did not compose or write the words to this music.  Thanks to him we actually get to enjoy it as he made it known to many of us
  • Every single day is a gift and it is complete

Soul experience

  • If you have never woken up for the sunrise and experienced being amidst nature, do yourself a favour and just do it.  Even the simplest of places can be magical in that time of the morning.  One of our magical moments was when we experienced a wonderful sunrise over Uluru, the centre and heart of Australia

To reflect on

  • Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
  • Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new day
