This short narration from Brother David Steindl-Rast is a beautiful way to start the day.  Brother David takes us through some simple experiences with lovely visuals to enhance the words.
Brother David was born in Vienna, Austria.  He holds degrees in Master of Arts and Ph. D in experimental psychology.  He immigrated to the United States and shortly after became a Benedictine monk. He co-founded the Centre for Spiritual Studies with Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Sufi teachers.  He also co-founded A Network for Grateful Living.

What we like

  • Brother David’s voice is so gentle that the gratefulness seems to speak through his tone and his pace
  • We are lead on a journey of the simplest of things to be grateful for, things that we may take for granted but are so significant if taken away

Soul experience

  • Connect with somebody or something you are grateful for and showing that you are grateful will bring happiness

To reflect on

  • You think this is just another day in your life
    It’s not just another day
It’s the one day that is given to you
    Today
    It’s given to you
    It’s a gift
It’s the only gift that you have right now
And the only appropriate response is gratefulness
