The Woman in the Moon is a song that features on the soundtrack album A Star is Born from the movie of the same name performed by and starring Barbra Streisand. It is written by Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher. Paul Williams and Barbra Streisand also wrote the song Evergreen that won an Academy Award for Best Original Song which also features on this album.

What we like

  • As for many of Paul Williams’s lyrics the songs seems to touch a nerve of reality and helps us to stir something deep inside that moves for change, spurred by a glimmer of hope. Streisand powerhouses her way through the song giving the strength and courage needed to each and every word

Mind experience

  • What is it that stirs inside that gives you that determination to move forward against all the odds. It just doesn’t seem to make sense. Somehow there is this idea that stirs within you and it beckons you to move towards it. It means change, it means questioning that which you have become use to and are familiar with. This yearning persists making us move past what we know into the unknown. The past is not lost it is ever present to guide you with your choices and move you to what is unfamiliar to become familiar all over again

To think about

  • I believe there’s a best of both worlds
    Mixing old and new
    Recognizing change is seldom expected
    As I long suspected
They believed that strange was a word for wrong
    Well not in my song
Cause you, you and I are changing that tune
We’re learning new rhythms from that woman in the moon
