Morning Has Broken was recorded by Cat Stevens and is on the album Teaser and the Firecat.  The beautiful piano arrangement that is part of this recording was composed and performed by Rick Wakeman. This was originally a hymn of the 1930s.

What we like

  • Cat Stevens, Ysuf Islam as he is currently known, did not compose or write the words to this music.  Thanks to him we actually get to enjoy it as he made it known to many of us
  • Every single day is a gift and it is complete

Soul experience

  • If you have never woken up for the sunrise and experienced being amidst nature, do yourself a favour and just do it.  Even the simplest of places can be magical in that time of the morning.  One of our magical moments was when we experienced a wonderful sunrise over Uluru, the centre and heart of Australia

To reflect on

  • Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
  • Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new day

Just the way I am

You have strengths as well, your successes and they have been present since the day you were born. You were strong enough to come into this world weren’t you? You were successful when you took your first steps and first spoke.,,

Chandogya Upanishad – within

“As large as this ether (all space) is, so large is that ether within the heart. Both heaven and earth are contained within it, both fire and air, both sun and moon, both lightning and stars; and whatever there is of the Self here in the world, and whatever is not, all that is contained within it.”

Albert Einstein – walk alone

“If you follow the crowd, you will go no further than the crowd. But if you walk alone, and find your own way, you will likely find yourself in places no one has ever been before.”

Longchen Rabjampa – compassion

“Compassion is the wish-fulfilling jewel, the auspicious jar from which the brilliance of good fortune comes…
It is like the sky, spangled with stars of spotless virtues, always bringing prosperity and bliss.”

Janet Zenari – life path

“What journey should you take in life? Whatever path you take, it will only bring you to the place that you are ready for.”
