Diana Ross released this song as her first solo since leaving The Supremes. Initially the song did not meet expectations however became over time her most popular and noteworthy songs.

What we like

  • The song goes beyond the pop charts and has had a power of its own. The song was performed at many ceremonies notably the 1984 Summer Olympic Games. Ross sang it in 2005 at the Tsunami Aid: A Concert of Hope and at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in 2008 at Oslo, Norway

Mind experience

  • It is perhaps difficult to reach out when we feel that we have too much to cope within our lives. Yet when we do, giving completely and limitlessly to the other person we can truly make a difference. The difference lifts the other person and encourages them to move forward. Amazingly, there is a bonus of creating this sense of joy in giving that lifts the giver as well. Remember giving comes in many forms and many strengths.  Also if someone reaches out, you need to reach back and then this gift can take place

To think about

  • Take a little time out of your busy day
    To give encouragement
To someone who’s lost the way
  • Try a little kindness you’ll see
It’s something that comes very naturally
We can change things if we start giving
