I wish you peace is the last track on Side Two of the album One of these Nights released in 1975.  It was the fourth album of the Eagles and the first to top the charts.  This album shot them through to international success and lead to a worldwide tour which they were supported by Fleetwood Mac.   I Wish you Peace was written by Bernie Leadon and Patti Davis.  Patti Davis is the daughter of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Ronald was then the Governor of California and he went on to become the US President.

What we like

  • This song is giving out good wishes, guidance, strength and love.  With some beautiful words of kindness we are given a sense of peace even through the difficult times
  • It also suggests the loss or passing on.  For this reason it serves to heal.  In sending out good wishes you are projecting your well wishes for the person and serves to reinforce that of goodness within yourself

Soul experience

  • The photograph used shows scenery from Mt Diavolezza, Switzerland.  With any mountainous region the weather and views can be expansive, clear one minute and the next closed and stormy.  This photograph shows the bleak stormy mountain weather and how the sun is struggling to find its way through the clouds.  As like any moment in time things can look bleak but just around the corner the clouds part and we are presented with a beautiful clear day only to reveal what was always there.  As the song suggests look for the guiding light, the warm fires glow to help you through those times

To reflect on

  • I wish you peace when times are hard
The light to guide you through the dark

And when storms are high and your dreams are low
I wish you the strength to let love grow
I wish you the strength to let love flow
