Released as a single, Happy Xmas (War is Over) is a song performed by John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band with the Harlem Community choir. The song was written by John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Leading up to this release Lennon and Ono had been working on peace activism which also included renting billboard space in major cities around the world to display “War is Over! If you want it – Happy Christmas from John & Yoko”.

What we like

  • Lennon and Ono’s message of peace and unity. What better time to think and act for peace?

Soul experience

  • This song has been a regular song of Christmas for some time now. When this song was written it was a protest song about the Vietnam War. It has just as much relevance today. How many days has this planet in modern history seen peace across the globe? And when will it be time?
