This classic song, sung by the main character of Jim Henson’s Muppets, opens the 1979 movie which features the Muppets. We hear the distinctive voice of Kermit the Frog as he soulfully sings this song sitting by a river. The song was written by Paul Williams and Kenneth Ascher and was nominated for an Academy Award for Original Score of the movie.

What we like

  • This song is still recognised till today and has a timelessness about it. The yearning for something better that you know is there and waiting for you

Soul experience

  • We may feel that there is more out there, something that we are wanting or needing to do or be. Is it wanting more, for the grass is always greener? Or is this an in innate search we have to better ourselves. To search for what is the truth? Perhaps in this quest will find the answers for ourselves

To reflect on

  • What’s so amazing
    That keeps us stargazing
And what do we think we might see
    Someday we’ll find it
    The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers, and me
