The humble green bean is lightly flavoured with this simple dressing. Steaming for 7 minutes or so allows for the bean to still maintain its crispiness. A simple way to put a bit of green on your plate.  This dish serves well warm or cool.  You can also cool it right down in the fridge for warm days.

Ingredients

  • 40 green beans – washed, topped, tailed, stringed
  • 1 garlic – peeled, rinsed, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Directions

  1. Prepare vegetables.
  2. In a steamer, boil water in base pot.  Place beans in steamer tray on top of pot cover.
  3. Steam beans on low to medium heat for 7 minutes.
  4. In a measuring cup mix garlic, olive oil and vinegar to combine.
  5. Arrange beans on a serving plate.
  6. Drizzle dressing over beans.  Serve.
