Something so simple as bread, butter and parmesan can make a tasty crispy addition to the meal. Really it is a fancy cheese on toast! We have used unsalted butter and a good quality parmesan cheese that will certainly make a difference.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices of white bread – crusts removed, sliced lengthwise in four equal portions
  • 50g / 1.7oz unsalted butter – melted on low heat
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese – grated in large section

Directions

  1. Preheat fan forced oven to 200C / 392F.
  2. Prepare bread and place on a baking tray.
  3. Melt butter in a small pot on low heat.
  4. Brush butter on both sides of bread slices.
  5. Grate parmesan and place 1 teaspoon of parmesan per slice.
  6. Place tray in oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Place slices on serving dish.  Serve.
