You don’t need much time in the kitchen for this meal if matched with a salad.  Pictured is an organic porterhouse which is our preference. Our cooking method is with an electric grill which cooks both sides in less than a minute for a tender moist steak.

Ingredients

  • 2 porterhouse steaks (approx. thickness 2.5cm / 1in) – sliced in half, trimmed, tenderised with a mallet
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves – peeled, rinsed, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons parsley – washed, sliced finely

Directions

  1. Prepare the porterhouse steaks.
  2. In an air tight container large enough to marinate steaks add the oil, vinegar, garlic, parsley and mix well.
  3. Add the meat and cover with the marinade.  Place lid on container and rest in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour.
  4. Heat a griller or fry pan on medium to high heat.  Cook 30-60 seconds on each side or as desired.  Serve.
